This intimate restaurant/gallery offers a weekly menu of international food reasonably priced and served with a smile. The modern decor is classy and inviting, with changing photo exhibits on the walls. Butcher paper covers tables and is accompanied by sharp colored pencils, convenient if you are struck by an artistic thought while dining. For vegetarians, the pumpkin ravioli with tomato sauce (THB80) and the Grilled Eggplant Bocconcini Stack (THB250) are satisfying. Seafood lovers could go for the fried fish with chips (THB230) or the Grilled Trevally Fillet with Spinach and Seafood Sauce (THB250).
Portions are miniscule compared with the size of your bill! While the food is tasty everthing comes in an appetizer size. I know that can be a food trend, but it was the trend in New York five years ago.
Give me a little for the money and I'll go back.
Went for dinner on Friday night. Had read good revies of the place, so decided to give it a go. Was very disappointed with the level of service and lack of space. They seem to have crammed in as many tables as possible which made moving about uncomfortable. Food was average and not worth the money. Had to wait around 45 minutes for the food to arrive. Think this is one of those restaurants that relies on tourists for its trade and they can give poor service and not worry about them coming back.
My wife (Sudawan) and I ate here with my Mother and sister in 2006. Food was average, the space was indeed small. Prices are above what I would be willing to pay for this "experience." However, the cab ride was worth every penny (or baht)...the entire ride I kept having to repeat the name of the restaurant to the cabbie (who spoke almost no English, and my wife, who was intensely paranoid about offending my Mother, kept silent for the duration of the cab ride, so no helpful translations!). So after repeating "Eat Me" to the cabbie for the umpteeth time, my Mother and sister were almost on the floor on the cab, laughing so hard that tears were streaming out of their eyes, we arrived. It seems there is an unknown (and distinct) connection to college fashion at RISD of the early 90's...as copper hair color and black turtlenecks (in 90 degree heat) seems to be in vogue. Worth the expense, as the bizarreness of the experience trumps anything I have been forced to endure before or since...
Eat me was recomended to us by a friend and lived up to all expectations. Great place, very nice food, good drinks, and very good service!
Will definately go again if visiting Bangkok.
One of our best dining experiences in Bangkok, trendy and funky and yes, not cheap, but then again, the food was fabulous, the ambience great (liked the art on the walls), but most of all, the service was superb! (that is if you are lucky enough to have the young waiter called DID to serve you). Ask him to tell you about the desserts, and out comes the crayon - he draws the dessert menu on the white paper tablecloths, great fun! We will definately be back!
This is one of the most fine Asian Cuisine you can find in Thailand. i had hard time finding the place. I wish we could have that restaurant in North America. This place is incredible, from the vinegrette to the dessert, tout est fabuleux
great place, great service great food, good looking staff.
Bon appétit les amis
I liked Eat Me. It's a little hard to find but not impossible and it is worth seeking out. It's slightly expensive for Bangkok (but not as expensive as eating at any of the 5-star hotels such as the Peninsula or Oriental or Sukhothai). Certainly not as expensive as eating in a comparable place in New York, Amsterdam or London. Arty romantic atmosphere and good fusion style food. I had carrot soup with cocoanut cream, double cherry duck with cranberry mashed potatoes and mixed asparagus, zucchini and broccoli, a nice glass or two of wine. Lot's of posh Thai folks here.
