Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf, Danshuei Township

24 years ago I used to visit that very place with my special friend , but it is totally different now, still the beautiful view remains, its still romantic.I hope i can still visit the place with the same friend who used to be my companion everytime i visit the place,MEMORIES of the mid 80's clearly flashback on me everytime i see even photographs of this place.I also hope that the sceneries beauty will be preserved.

This is a great place to go with your partner, I went there with my girlfriend and had a lovely walk whilst the sun was starting to go down. It was a really beautiful view. My only advice would be, only go there when the weather is good. If its getting nearer winter time the wind will be a little stronger, it will feel a little cold and if you take a ferry it won't be a pleasant ride because of the sea being uncalm.

There you will find good sea food and other Chinese food stalls. The ride on boad is very good. But its a good place to go with wifes or girl friend.

To get to Danshui or Tamshui, you can take the MRT on Danshui line right to the end. From the MRT, there is a tourist info centre where you can pick up the map. You can cycle or walk along the harbour. This place is famous for its granny's iron eggs and fish/prawn crisps. Bought a packet of the crisps and regret not buying more. This is like an old street where both sides of the street are dotted with shops selling cakes, pastries, tea, and so on. More food stuff. You can also take a ferry ride to cruise along right to the end where the harbourfront is. There you can see the Fort as well. It's a nice long stretch for you to stroll along. Do go there around evening time so that it will not be too hot and warm. With the nice sunset in the background, you can also choose to dine in one of those al fresco cafe. Very relaxing place.
