Tavern (The), Taipei City

This cozy pub is conveniently located around the corner from the Grand Hyatt. The decor is slightly bizarre, ship's portholes on the walls along with various other nautical memorabilia. Nevertheless, the atmosphere is relaxed and casual, with an eclectic crowd (foreign and local businessmen and the occasional student). A giant screen behind the pool table shows major sporting events. Non-sporting fans can opt to play foosball. The menu is rather limited, playing back seat to the extensive range of beers and other alcoholic drinks.
