Araneta Coliseum

Description

Billed as the world's largest dome coliseum when it opened in 1960, the Araneta Coliseum has played host to performances by the world's top entertainers over the past four decades. Recently renovated inside and out, with an eye catching exterior repainted in bright yellow and blue, the coliseum remains a major venue for sports and entertainment events, including PBA (Philippine Basketball Association) matches, beauty pageants, an ice skating revue at Christmas time (an ongoing tradition since the coliseum opened) and pop/rock concerts throughout the year.

Nice But Got Some Serious DrawBacks!!!
By ,
Its a nice place and all(though sometimes its hot)... problem is: THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A PLACE OF ENTERTAINMENT NOT A CHURCH!!! So why cant anyone bring in a camera or foods inside? Taking pictures is part of being a fan, esp. to rare visits from international artists/entertainers... This is the first time I heard that an arena wont allow cameras, even at concerts! I sure hope Araneta Coliseum will let us bring food and take pictures next time around!

I like it because the concerts, place and games are such amazing, and it is very clean. I love the basketball games there and I love eating hotdogs when watching the game

araneta coliseum
By ,
this used to have the largest dome span in asia. even though it lost it's glory as a record holder, it never lost its function and beauty. this coliseum is undoubtedly a part of filipino heritage for the endless presentations that were showcased there.
