Taal Volcano & Lake
One of the most-visited tourist spots in the Philippines, this geological phenomenon is actually a volcano within a lake within a volcano. Taal is the world's smallest volcano, but do not let appearances deceive you - it can be quite deadly when it erupts. A 45-minute ride on a banca (wooden boat) will take you to the volcano; a 15-minute trek will take you to the top of the crater. An older and larger volcano is an hour away, which requires the assistance of an experienced guide to reach.
This is reportedly the smallest volcano in Asia. Very scenic. Weather is cool at night and warm in the morning. Prices are good. $50-100 a day/2 pax all in. Lots of places to eat and drink. Visit the Palace in the Sky which was a mansion built by Philippine ex-President Marcos for Ronald Reagan in the 80s.
After spending a night in tagaytay, I suggest visiting nearby Batangas (30 minutes away) for great beaches.
the place there is nice.
U have to travel a boat (about half an hour) to that volcano island and then riding horse around 1/2 hr to the top of the volcano.
It's hot there and people there always ask for tips.
Be careful to choose the agent who leads u for the boats as the price varies a lot depending the safety ....
Anyway, the view there was greaT!!
u must enjoy going there~
This was one of the first places I went to see when I was in the Philippines 4 years ago for work. I didn't take the boat over to Taal but the view and the scenary where incredible. I'd highly recommend this.
I LOVED THE BEAUTIFUL VIEWS, THEY WERE GREAT!!! I WISH I COULD GO THERE AGAIN!!!!!!!! THE ATMOSHERES AND VALUES WERE GREAT!!!! I LOVED IT!!!!!! IT WAS SO ENJOYABLE... YOU COULD TAKE THE WHOLE FAMILY AND HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!
The peaceful atmosphere and cool weather of Tagaytay, especially when you are viewing Taal Volcano from the Highlands, was the most breathtaking experience I ever had. I always look forward to going back to Tagaytay every now and then when I wish for peace and simple fun, not to mention the delicious specialty dishes and the fresh fruits that you can buy from fruit stands along the highway.
that there are three volcanos on one small island in the middle of the lake. you still could see fumes coming out from the rock harden lava. really enjoyed it. the people are great and friendly. i really do recommend it to anyone who willing to travel. it is far from manila but worth the trip.
Joe Ayala, no relation to the Ayala's there but i do tease everyone that i own half the island.
