Greenhills Shopping Center
Located in a wealthy neighborhood, Greenhills Shopping Center's somewhat run-down exterior belies its established reputation as a shopper's haven. Extant since the 1970s, thousands converge here on weekends and holidays to browse through what locals call tiangge - stalls peddling everything from footwear and video games to furniture and cell phone accessories. Sensitive folks are advised to stay away at Christmas time when the elbow-to-elbow crowds might induce an attack of claustrophobia or agoraphobia.
Last xmas me and my kids went here to shop for gifts for my friends and family. We had fun going here coz at that time they have the COD show where kids eyes are focused really hard. Amused by the sight!
Lots of people are here including children, teens, all age bracket, boys and girls. If you want an affordable item this is the place to be. Beside TUTUBAN this is the next best thing to go and do your xmas lists.
There are also lots of restaurants in every corner so you'll have plenty of choices on where to go if you are hungry.
Now that Xmas season is fast approaching...can't wait to go back again1
Personally I think this market is the best in the world a few of my girlfriends and I took a holiday trip to Manila and they loved greenhills we could not get enough of it and that goes for all the shopping in Manila. If you are shopping mad Manila is the place to go. I live inner city Sydney so you would think that the shopping would compare to Manila and it doesn't.
am a regular local traveller from one of the provinces in the philippines. everytime im in manila, i visit greenhills. and what can i say about it? it's the best. everything is so cheap. they have all the gadgets i want.. and i can also sell and trade my old ones there. it's like a big trade fair. there's nothing quite like it from where i am. some merchandise are fakes though. just don't get fooled by everything you see. anyway, if u love flea markets,budget-shopping and bazaars.. this is the place to be.
I was in Manila 2x on business - September and December. The shopping experience is worth it - you need to be in the frame of mind to 'negotiate' on price and can't be in a rush. A lot of 'knock off' merchandise - but A LOT of choices! The deals were better in September. In December there was less room for price negotiation.
We parked on a supposed to be a "no parking zone" but had no sign and the spaces are painted with white lines so who would think it was an illegal parking area? Apparently, the shopping center is privately owned but then the ones who give tickets are the barangay tanods. One of them told us that the lines were supposed to be changed into yellow lines so no one would make the mistake of parking on that area but this has hasn't been done yet.If they don't really want anyone to park on those spaces, they should put a sign up on each of those spaces or repaint the lines yellow. I think this is a bait so they can earn money legally but in a scrupulous way. This area by the way was in front of the "Promenade."
