Buppharam Buddhist Temple
Description
Translated roughly to mean the "Flower Temple", the largest temple arch in the state lies here. When the deteriorating arch was renovated a few years ago skilled craftsmen were brought in from Thailand to ensure a proper upgrade to this special structure. A Thai Buddhist monk, Luang Por Sri Keow, built the temple from scratch in 1942 and his statue lies in front of the prayer room half covered with gold leaves purchased and pasted on it by visitors as a sign of respect. Prayer chanting in held from 7am-8am daily and the temple is open to the public.
