Jamek Haji Kassim Kampung Makam Mosque
Description
Tucked away in a Kampung (Malay village), the mosque serves as a meeting ground as well as a place of worship to the surrounding community. Wandering into the village, one realizes that the mosque is situated in a self-contained village, complete with small huts selling local Malay delights. Welcoming the visitor are the shy giggles of children and a showering of fragrant white frangipani flowers. The cobalt-blue roof and walls are scrubbed clean and a tranquil cemetery lies adjacent to its entrance. Mosque grounds are open to the public, but the mosque itself is not.
