Eden Seafood Village
This establishment is always packed with hordes of tourists. Sharp, pointed roofs cap a reddish-brown wooded edifice which houses the main dining hall and a raised stage on which run an incessant flow of cultural shows. Available here is fish and seafood of every imaginable variety, most of which are served straight out of the tanks. Grouper, soo-mei, eels, lobsters, prawns, crabs, to name but some common favourites, are offered in a variety of cooking styles to complement an extensive a la carte menu.
Fairly expensive, unfriendly staff, except for Tiger beer lady. Food was OK but not as good as we were anticipating.
The Eden in Georgetown still has the best steaks for a good price, and consistent for over 30 years. Keep your money for their joint.
slightly over rated considering the prices they charge. Can get equally fresh but tastier fish close by at a fraction of the cost. Good if you're in a large group. They tend to have shows on at weekends. Service is good and the staff are freindly and helpful.
Being a lone female traveller , eating out can be an uncomfortable experience - not at Eden. Frankie and Paul have always looked after me superbly(as have the other staff).
I have eaten there on numerous occasions - always had excellent fresh food ( often not on the menu) and enjoyed the music. It's a little expensive and if you are a wine drinker, forget it. For great seafood and a good night out, it's thoroughly recommended.
If you want to dress upa little , this is one place you can, or be very casual - it doesn't matter.
I haven't eaten there since it changed hands, so don't know if things have changed. I hope not.
Imposing exterior, reminiscent of a Hollywood Epic set depicting the grandeur of the Maharajahs. Internally, the subdued lights emanating from
the imported Indian lanterns are bright enough to allow one to see the pillars built by Indian craftsmen. As ...
Take a slow spin around Penang Island while treating yourself to a sumptuous buffet spread and an ambience made conducive
by well elaborated dim coffer lighting. In the one hour that it takes to make a complete revolution, help ...
