Kuala Lumpur Bird Park
Located in the serene and scenic Lake Gardens (Taman Tasik Perdana), the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park is a bird sanctuary and tropical paradise for nature lovers and over 160 species of birds. Spanning three hectares of verdant valley terrain, it is one of the largest parks in Southeast Asia. Featuring thousands of birds representing nearly every major species of this region, the park is also a haven for varied plants with lush foliage. Stroll through the maze of walkways and break for a scenic picnic amidst the greenery at rest stops scattered throughout the park. Check the website for full details including admission prices.
I loved the bird park. As soon as we walked into the park a bird flew onto my husband's shoulder. It is a beautiful park and we really enjoyed taking pictures with the birds. There is a studio set up where you can have 2 birds on your arms for pictures, we all had to do. I would recommend the bird park to anyone going to Malaysia.
I'd like ot say that the bird park was an enjoyable experienece in the end.. but the bitter taste of being treated the way my girlfriend and I were tainted the visit we made the day after the incident.
Basically, I wouldn't waste my money there.. it is a nice place, but not for it's price.
The hassle we went through to pay by credit card is way too much for anyone who wants to go to a world class place such as this one. The staff are rude, they can hardly speak english.. they simply don't care.
The birds are also kept in poor conditions in a lot of cases.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone... but if you do go take cash.
Last week i visited the bird park in Kuala Lumpur with two of my friends. We are not locals. According to your site the entry fee is RM 10 for foreigners. However, I was surprised when they charged us RM 84 for three passes. I have lived in Malaysia for three years, and I have also noticed that if taxi drivers are aware that you are a foreigner, they'll roam around before reaching the destination you request. So, if you are planning to visit Malaysia be aware of these things.
