Petronas Twin Towers

Description

At a dizzying height of nearly 457.2 meters (1500 feet), the Petronas Twin Towers, a pair of 88-story buildings, were the world's tallest buildings until 2004. Apart from offices, these awesome towers also house a state-of-the-art concert hall—the Petronas Philharmonic Hall, home of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra—as well as shopping arcades, restaurants, and a science museum. The designs on the towers are based on geometric patterns common in Islamic architecture. Special features of the towers include the double decker skybridge between the 41st and 42nd floors and double decker elevators. Admission is free, however tickets are limited and issued daily on a first-come-first-served basis.

Beautiful!
By ,
I live in Taiwan and, as you know WE now have the tallest building in the world...the Taipei 101 tower! BUT having said that, the Petronas Towers is way more beautiful than 101! I found the KLCC Suria shopping complex very crouded and VERY expensive! All in all, the Petronas Towers is a MUST SEE, during the day, but also at night!

Dec. 31, 2006 2 a.m. KUL Airport The first day i set my foot on the airport of Malaysia I can't help to think that I am here and exploring this beautiful country. My visit here is truly amazing experience. I came to see one of the tallest building of the worls and its truly spectacular...The Twin Tower of Malaysia where only some people can see in actual this marvelous work of human. I went out with my friends and they toured me all in KL eating in different restaurant, see the virgin forest, went to the well-known Batu Cave to see the beautiful cave where in lots of Hindus went there to worshipped and praise God.

I am a Malaysian and living in Canada. I had been to this buildings in 2003 with my spouse and I am proud to show her the twin towers and places of interest in Malaysia. My spouse is from Vietnam and she enjoyed ver much her stay in Malaysia for almost two months. We were fascinated with the design and beauty of the magnificient buildings. It is truly a unforgetable experience for us. We will be back in 2007 for this year Merdeka's celebration.

Petronas Towers

One word: SHOPPING! All the big stores and shelf items available as in US or Europe, but at a fraction of the price. Oh, and they had one of the Team Petronas F1 cars on display. Can't beat that!

unfortunate people
By ,
The structure of the building is fantastic but unfortunately we never got the chance to go up the skybridge. We came in the afternoon and all tickets had been given away. Tickets are limited because it's free. You can see the bird's eye view of KL from the skybridge. I just have to go back again to give you more info about this place. From KLCC station, exit to Suria KLCC and then follow the directions and arrows.

Would not go back again.
By ,
The place is nice but to have a look above the twin towers you have to go only from mon - thurs. Weekends not permitted to go back to catch the view of K.L The shopping is expensive, even going to the loos cost us RM 2. Once is enough.
