Located within the imposing Petronas Twin Towers building, Petrosains is a modern museum housing many exciting exhibits. Covering a total area of 100,000 square feet, this interactive science discovery center traces the development of petroleum science and technology. Among the interesting exhibits are hi-tech presentations of a singing dinosaur and a smoking volcano. The discovery journey through forest, ocean and sky, and the simulation helicopter flight in a tropical storm is just as thrilling and engaging. There are also live science demonstrations and a child play center.
very informative. the set up of the place is very condusive to learning. very interactive. the people are nice friendly and knowledgeable about petrosains. the place is safe and clean . you will learn about part of what is in malaysia on a short period of time
A great place to learn n also to have fun. Most esp I love the helicopter simulation thing n also we can get a chance to know how the Ptronas workers work. Its a great place for children as well as adults. Awesome!!
The best part of this museum is the way you arrive; in style on the 'dark ride', kind of like a very slow rollercoaster, giving information about Malaysia and its people. The exhibits are excellent, well maintained and there are always enthusiastic employees nearby who will leap to help you if you show the slightest hesitation in operating them. My kids loved the soccer exhibit and the bed of nails, as well as the motion simulator. It's certainly pro-oil, after all, it is put together by Petronas, so you have to expect a little of that. Don't miss the twisty slide on the way out, only for older kids though. Thoroughly worth a visit for anyone with kids or with an interest in science museums.
The place is good for all ages but mostly for kids because it's a lot educational. Place is cool, bring sweaters with you too. Visit the place early so it's not yet crowded and you can still have more time to visit the mall, twin towers and other places in KL. You can come to KLCC by Putra LRT line, just alight at the KLCC station.
We have been to the Petrosains twice and enjoyed ourselves both times. This is a great place for everyone in the family and to introduce kids to science. It's one-of-a-kind museum that is interactive. We enjoyed the ride passed the rainforest to the museum and on the way back to the station. There are also simulator rides and you can explore a petroleum site. A must see if you're in KLCC.
I visited Petrosains on a Monday, but it and the Bridge across the twin towers are both closed Mondays. When it was open the next day I had a good visit, but it isn't up to standard I'm used to at Ontario Science Center. It is focused on Oil
Petrosains is a very popular place with the locals and tourists alike. There are science exhibits for all ages. The experiements are designed to be very interactive. There are shows and skits, a dancing T-rex dinosaur, and even a playroom for children under the age of six. You will enjoy the space ship ride into Petrosains, which shows a five minute video during your journey. We keep going back again and again. It's large enough so that you will not see and do everything in one visit. Get their early to avoid the long lines.
Petrosains is so fun because its about daily sciences that happen but we don't notice..its definitely something you have to do when in Kuala Lumpur!! Kinda cheap since its subsidised by Petronas. The mini shows that they have at each station are very educational and just amazing because you can do it right at home! The staff and volunteers there are so helpful and friendly..they make learning fun because who wants to spend all their time reading the panels right? A really great place!
