Fly in chilli sauce bottle!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/9/10
I was highly recommended to eat at this outlet by my sister. The Secret Recipe outlet looked nice from a distance but upon approaching it closely, it did not look very clean. Nonetheless, we were very hungry and wanted to try out the food. The menu was very limited and my family decided to order a few steaks and a couple of kids meals. The food was brought out at varied times and the last steak was served cold..,. Mind you the steak mind you... is a casserole type.. boiled not pan-fried! After complaining about it and followed by another 2 reminders, the same steak (now heated up) was brought up 15 mins later. Mind you, everyone else had well and truly, finished their meal. To top it off... we asked for chilli sauce and there was a dead fly in the bottle!! When we questioned the waiter, he simply took the bottle away and brought us a new one.... no apologies whatsoever! I then asked to speak to the Manager... and he was at the other end of the counter mixing drinks and did not bother to approach me. I then had to go up to him and tell him what the problem was (after I was asked to pay for the meal). The manager (Patrick) then told to give me my contact details and that he would call me the next day. I even rang him later that evening to give him alternate contact numbers but in vain... he never called! To all those out there... BEWARE... the food was not that tasty and you get much better value at other restaurants nearby... trust me... I tried a few out.

Yesterday (29/8/10-Sunday) Me, my husband n son had our buka puasa at the above place. We ordered at 6.30 pm..but only got our order at 7.30...Luckily the drinks came first but no kurma...there wa a promo..if we ordered the main course..we will get A syrup drink n Kurma for every order..sadly..when I ask the wattress so many times..the watress is like - make dunno ..and the kurma never came...I hope the management will look into into this matter..You have to deliver your promise...So I will think twice or over n over again if I wanna go to your restaurant again!!

i'm waiting for a better services!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/27/08
i'm a regular customer who visit the shop at least once a week because of the great delicious cake exp classic cheese n choc indulgence, yesterday a went to one of the outlet at cheras selatan wit my husband v order a slice of choc indulgence n a plate of meetball pasta, my husband tried on the first spoon he notice that the cake is not as fresh as usual so i try n c it's not as smooth as before, choc indulgence should be creamy n smooth because of it's choc n white choc but the cake part is not soft at all it's like very hard so i refer to one of the waitress politely n ask for reason hope they wil check what is the problem n not continue selling the same cake at the day but she took my cake to the kitchen n place the same slice of cake to my table n said 'the cake have no problem n it's been cut by today' of course it's been slice by the day but i already told her the point is, so both of us stop consume the cake v r so down. Secret recipe is our fav cake store v share sweet n happy moment at there everytime it's the best place for a cakes lover like us, i hope your rest wil do something when customer shows some of the complain on food. Thank's from mr&mrs Ha.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/14/08
I enjoyed all their cakes and overall I found it value for money. During my stay in Malaysia i visited the coffee shop everyday as they make the best carrot Cake. I look forward to a Secret Recipe Shop opening in Dubai, UAE.

Surprising! Great Cheese Cakes in Malaysia?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/26/07
The Cheese Cakes are lovely, lovely, lovely! Quite a good spread of variety as well. Having a tea break here to stop that craving for the sweets and cakes will be ideal. The food is a plus to have. The noodles are worth the try though the thai tom yum is a bit too spicy for me. The vietnamese beef noodle my girlfriend had was good - the right kick, outbeat some viet restaurant we tried. Will be back for more.

Cookie Cutter Cakes
By Jiawen, 11/27/06
If you like your cakes made in some central factory to cookie cutter sameness, laden with preservatives for extra shelf life, facsimiles of what Malaysians think cakes should look and taste like... that's secret recipe. The drinks are overpriced - ice lemon tea that tastes like the packaged lipton tea powder for RM5! - please... if you want to see the real Malaysia, get a teh tarik or teh o limau ais at any mamak and enjoy with roti canai. Try the kuih you can find at any night market or roadside stall. Ipoh white coffee, kaya toast, nasi lemak - these are what true local cafes serve.
