Melting Pot Cafe
Tucked inside this reputable hotel is this 24-hour coffee-house, with a fine selection of offerings that will appease any appetite. The contemporary design offers a casual and cosy ambience, while the high ceiling adds an airy feel. Take a window seat for a pleasant city view. An overwhelming offering of Asian and Western favourites are available for breakfast, lunch, dinner or late night snack. Alternatively, opt for the a la carte menu, or take your pick from the parade of sweet savouries displayed at the counter. Fish and chips, steaks and spaghetti are also available, as are soft drinks and juices.
I was looking for a romantic place for dinner; and this place was the total opposite. Motorcycles are parked infront, with "strange looking men" srronunding the area, the smell of smoke, and the bad food, as well as the bad drinks, all add up to a bad experience.
I orderd a pizza (which was very bad an oily) and 2 drinks, wich thy added a lot of water to.
I've been frequenting Melting Pot cafe for the last 9 years (although I'm not sure if it has always retained it's name). It has always been a favourite spot of my family for a hearty late night supper. Melting Pot Cafe is famous for their all-night buffet dining. The kitchen has been careful to always include favourite late night snack and dishes like Nasi Lemak, Teow Chew Porridge, Mee Sup, Asam Laksa, and of course, Teh Tarik! Along side you will also find salads, sandwiches, rice dishes and side servings.
The service may be affected by the late-hours so expect service to be a little slow. Be wary when ordering ala carte dishes as it may take a while for your order to arrive. I say just go for the buffet line. Price per head goes for MYR32++ the last time i was there. Slightly on the high side for late dining, but given the ambiance and new upgraded interior to relax in for as long as you want, it's well worth it.
The food here are very nice even that is bit pricey for people who earn below RM 2000/month. However, if u compare this price with other restaurant's buffet, this is really valuable.
They have various type of food which can suit everyone here, seafood, chicken, beef, etc. However, they should included juices with the price of RM52++.
One more thing that i dislike, maybe it's not relate to this restaurant. When i call in to the hotel, the person who answer my phone is really rude & not patient( before she transfer my line to Melting Pot).
