Madam Kwan's

Description

Named after the founder, this chic establishment is well known for its spicy Nyonya (blends of Chinese and Malay) offerings. This rather small establishment has many mirrors on the walls, thus making it look larger than it really is. Another dining area upstairs allows you to dine either indoors or outdoors. Paintings adorn the walls, while Chinese artefacts decorate the interior. Popular items include Nasi Bojari (coloured rice with fried chicken, Beef Rendang and Assam Prawn) and Nasi Lemak (cocunut milk rice served with various trimmings). Try the all time local favourite Ice Campur (crushed ice with nuts and syrup).

A very bad experience!
By ,
My friends and I went to the Madam Kwan outlet in KLCC for dinner on the 24/8/2007. The staff in Madam Kwan was rude and they behaved as if they did not receive any training in serving people. They tried to take away our meals before we were even finished numerous times and even brought us the bill although no one had asked for it. I would expect from a restaurant such as Madam Kwan's that the service would be much better and the staff would be better trained. I was very disappointed overall and it had spoiled the entire occasion for all of us. As we were leaving, one of the captains had even made some snide comments about us, leaving us with a very bad impression of the restaurant.

Good beef rendang
By ,
The beef rendang and aswam vegetables They observe the unfortunate but prevalent local custom of "team table-waiting" which means that anyone COULD help you, but no one has the accountability personally. So you never know who to talk to or where you stand and all of the help looks annoyed when you flag them.

No next time

All this while I enjoyed dining out at your KLCC restaurant. However, I was very disappointed with the services provided by one of the staff servicing us at the main door on Sunday, 29MAY05 at 2.30pm. I brought my family to your newly opened Restaurant at Mid Valley. A middle-aged Chinese guy with spectacles did not bother to attend to me when I was queing up behind a customer. He has chosen to ignore me and proceed to service the customer queing behind me instead. I stopped him from servicing the guy behind me but he did not even apologise to me for being so rude. As he has respect for us, my family insisted that we go to the Little Penang. Finally, we had a great meal there with good services provided by their staff. We will never ever go to your Mid Valley restaurant in the future and will tell all our friends and relatives of this awful experience. From : May, KL

Just order Nasi Bojari with Cendol. No need to ask for others.

Service is average, staffs hospitality make you feels like you're not welcome to ask anything when they're busy with other things. When they're not busy, you can probably ask them anything that you want to know more about the menu.
