Description

Lafite is a comfortable and cosy place to dine. Having been renovated, a classical ambience is created, with glittering chandeliers, tall windows overlooking a garden and greenery, stylish chairs with wooden frames and candles on each table. A truly great place for a romantic dinner. Everything here will test your heart and taste buds, with the first being the foie de canard with caramel apple sauce. If that is not good enough for you, the chef has added Armagnac and fig for the ultimate kick. Drinks-wise, hot and cold beverages and alcoholic drinks are available.

Amazing Creation, Elbulli in KL
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/26/07
Amazingly creative recipes, perfectly cooked, with only fresh ingredients. I'm a big food lover, traveling all over from Tokyo, Hong Kong, Paris to Montecalro Louis XV. I can say that I have tasted pretty much of 'top' chefs' masterpieces. But I can tell, this restaurant was pleasant surprise in KL. Chef Kevin used to work for 'Elbulli' where the waiting list for the table is the longest in the world. Of course, you can experience bit of 'elbulli's magical creation'. Food, decoration, ambiance all good. Almost too good to be in KL. I;m sure chef Kevin will be a big big name within few years in gastronomic industry. Lunch set was totally satisfying, you can find chef's witty and humorous side from his dishes. Dinner was also spectacular. Chef's tasting menu can compete with those of Pierre Ganaiere. Go and exprience if you're into food. ***** Five stars! (One thing: if you're non-smoker, the space is kind of mixed up...u can still smell it very well.)

A must for foodies
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/30/07
Head chef Kevin is very passionate and creative with food. He did an AMAZING 6 course degustion which was individually tailored for the both of us. The food is art, with some dishes created using liquid nitrogen. Trully worth the expense which was about 300 US for two including wine. Do it.

Best service ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/13/07
One of the best places to go for fine-dining in malaysia. Excellent Ambiance and service plus a large variety of french dishes. Try 'the wine cellar' for private dinners.

Lafite the Exceptional
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/11/06
one to say that fine dinning is not for everyone and this is evident for the past two years i have been in K.L. i could say that no restaurant can beat lafite in terms of service and food. neverless the wine list with more than 750 labels of wine from around the world could be said to confusse some. but with the help of the Maitr d'hotel; Huza radzi, his assistant; Linges and 2 fine young waiters; shashie and radzlan it was much easier. i had the pleasure of attending 3 of their past wine maker's dinner which was Chateau Lafite of Pauillac in december 2004, chateau cos d'estournel and pichon lalande in 2005 was marvelous with credit to the art of decanting wines that was done in such a way that i had goose pimples for a week. i could say that the food is not been modified to local palate but still remains a classic fine south of france style. the point that i would like to make would be that if the owners are reading this is get rid of Chef Chabbet and get someone more international and less seen in the restaurant. if he is in the restaurant with guests who is controlling the quality of food in the kitchen right. the last chef george and alvin were much professional. another is that the restaurant should put tables by the wimdow and get rid of the circular particion in the restaurant. put tables by the window they will sell like hot cakes. anyway congratulations guys for my 40th birthday was one that i will remember for ever. thanx
