Description
If you love the art of embroidery, visit this museum. It houses some 3,000 objects, including many screens. The lives of traditional Korean women are reflected through the many types of embroidery on display here, which includes embroidery with Buddhist themes, wrapping material, traditional garments and accessories. The founder of the museum, Huh Dong-hwa, spent many decades collecting and studying these artifacts. Among those on display, the most valued pieces are the embroidered folding screens and an 18th century embroidered surplice.
