Namsan Cable Car
On May 18th, 1962, the Namsan Cable Car was the first cable car to be built and operated in Korea. During the day, enjoy the beauty of Seoul's surrounding landscape and at night, experience the illumination of the bright lights below. Plan to visit an hour before sunset to get both panoramic views ascending and descending the city's most famous peak. Both a restaurant and a cafe are found at the top.
We visited the Cable car and had lunch at the restaurant below. The food was superb! The cable car ride gave us a great view of the surrounding area, but beware it is smoggy. You will not be able to see more than 10-15Km. Well worth it though!
Seems to be only 3 ways to get to the Seoul Tower area. One by bus, another by walking, and the last by cable car. Cable car is a good option although the view isnt spectacular. Its convenient because I dont have to figure out which bus is going up there and where to wait for it. We just took a taxi to 'Nam-san cable car' and it was pretty easy to access. Got a 2 way ticket.
This cable car ride up was a great view but can get costly. If you're trying to get to Seoul tower, you can actually take a bus or taxi most of the way. If you're into hiking you can climb stairs for most of the journey as well. If you want to experience the view, it is a nice one of North side of the River. Cost for a round trip ticket is 7000 wan.
This cable car goes up Namsan mountain. It is actually used by Seoul natives rather than tourists, and has a certain charm as a result. You get a decent view, and a little swaying, all for a nominal fee. Kids will love it, as it does't go up too high or last too long.
