Insadong: Could stay all day
By KaraL, 10/15/07
I loved this nice artisy area and got a lot of wonderful art and gifts to take back home. There are a lot of art stores that have rice paper paintings and cloth scrolls. Be careful as the same things are in many different shops so it's easy to hold out for better prices down the street. Sometimes I was successful in bargaining for prices.

Insadong is great!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/22/05
Insadong is my favorite part of Seoul. It is quiet yet bustling. On the weekends it is traffic free. There are tons of little stores selling everything and everything. Antiques, pottery, stationary, art supplies, art stores, clothes etc. But the best thing is the teashops. There are tons along the main street and off in the alleys. There are also many places to eat, if the many street vendors dont get you first. It's also a very clean area, unlike some other open markets I've seen here. There are two information boothes to help you in English if you need it. Everyone should check out Insadong if theyre here, esapecially the traditional teahouses.

Hidden Insadong
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/04
Tucked into one of the northern areas of central Seoul is Insadong. It is an area completely unique to anything else I have experienced in Korea. In it's early years Insadong was a major trading area within Seoul, now it has grown to be an area unsurpassed by cultural heritage and artistic expression. It is primarily a one street area where one can amble slowly down and not miss a thing. Of course if you take one of the many side streets there are many more restaurants, art galleries and nick-nack shops to perouse. Surrounding Insadong are many historic sites dating back hundreds of years including temples, palaces and fortresses.
If you have plans to come to Korea, Insadong is a must see! Trust me, I have lived and travelled Korea for 3 years and it is still the most unique part of Korea I have ever seen.
