I visited Shinjuku Gyoen in Marth, the month of cherry blossom, the most famous flower of Japan. In this time, sakura is full of park. You will wallow in sakura. If you were in Tokyo in spring, you can not forget visiting here

This is a great park right in the center of town. It has nicer trees and open area's than Yoyogi Park. Fantastic place to see Cherry Blossoms in Spring.

I almost missed this garden as I had been to several others and read that it had Western gardens (didn't need to see as I am a westerner) but at the last minute decided to go and was very happy that I did. It is much bigger than most of the intimate traditional gardens throughout the city but still has beautiful plantings and design. I was there for the chrysthanthemum festival which was a great treat and I will be back for the cherry blossoms. If I could only see one garden this would not be the one but it is certainly worth a visit. Allow at least a couple of hours if you like gardens.
