Shinjuku Mitsukoshi ALCOTT

Description

First opened in the Edo period as a kimono and accessories shop, Mitsukoshi is the oldest surviving department store in Japan. Despite its European influences, Mitsukoshi still reveres its Japanese traditions and retains the finest quality houseware, laquerware, kimono and accessories. This branch reopened in 2005 under its current name, and is a zakka specialty store (general merchandise). The store has some very interesting items for women and has now become more of an upscale lifestyle store.

Tokyo's shopping secret
By ,
Why go to the tourist stalls and the Oriental Bazar when you can go to Mitsukoshi. One stop shopping for Japanese sweets and teas to ceramics and housewares. My favorite place for gifts, souvenirs and just browsing!

Awesome displays!
By ,
Very clean and packed with thousands of products from bakery to terrariums. The most lavish store in Tokyo. The restaurants and food court were very nice. There is clothing, golf section, cosmetics, terrariums, swimwear, shoes, jewelry, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, and two spas within the store. It's only a short walk from the Central Station and Ginza.
