Building a Ferris wheel into the upper floors of a shopping mall in the middle of an enormous city was a bold and brilliant idea. The Hep Five Ferris Wheel, named so because it is in/on the Hep Five shopping center just beside Osaka Station, rises 106 meters above the city. The lower dimensions of the wheel actually dip into the shopping mall. There are 52 gondolas, each with a four-person capacity. The entrance is on the 7th floor of Hep Five.

Memories From Umeda
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/23/08
This ferris wheel in is Umeda. It was FANTASTIC! I went there with my girlfriend who is Japanese. We went at night time and it was absolutely gorgeous. The ride lasts about 15 minutes and the price is 500 YEN per person. You buy the ticket before you go on at a small ticket machine near the entrance. You can also purchase a picture of you and your honey for 1,000 YEN afterwards. Oh yeah, you get your picture taken before you go on!

Great Way to see Osaka

I enjoyed this ferris wheel a lot. It was warm and sunny when I rode it, and I got a lot of great photos. The best view in the city!

Fantastic at Night
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/29/06
I went at night and WOW!, what a beautiful view of Osaka. I was by myself and am glad I paid for the picture they offer to take of you (1000 yen which is less than $10). The view was just fantastic, and the mall it was attached to gives you a great shot of Osaka life for the young crowd. Recommend it.

Great Views of Osaka
By AndrewF, 02/13/06
This offers great views of Osaka. I recommned going at night, the views are spectacular views of this huge city. The mall that this ferris wheel is above offers a wide varity of shops and there's also a threate on the top floor of the building right next door (movies are in English with Japanese subtitles).

Very romantic and beautiful place. Suggest to go there when is dark outside, the lights over the city are amazing. It is not expancive (just 500 yen) and it is worth it.

Have to see it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/31/04
This is by far the most exciting shopping centre I've ever seen. If you are looking for young clother this is the place you have to go. This area is full of young japanse people(very cute girls). Most items are expensive but it's worth to go even for just having a look.

great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/18/04
An excellent way to get an overview of the central Umeda district of Osaka, this inovative ride does provide a comfortable ride for up to 4 people and is air-conditioned year round(heat or cold). The views from the top of this wheel are great - day or night.
