Superb service equaled by superior quality food.
I've known Matsui San, the owner, for 25 years and he has never faltered. From small groups to a single treat, you won't be disappointed. A rather good wine list too.

I like the restaurant very much. They presents tremendace french cooking, with at home modest friendly.Wine selection is splended.Mr.Matsui's advice for choosing the wine is quite adequate. I recommend every person who loves french cooking & wine to travel some 100 miles to enjoy this exellent restaurant
I have been coming to this restaurant from the time it was housed in a tiny shopfront in Kitashirakawa seating no more than eight at a time. They now occupy a larger space, but the move has not affected the quality of the Le Bellecour experience.
This fine French restaurant provides everything you would expect for an elegant evening out with your someone special, or for a dinner to celebrate an event with friends or colleagues. The food is wonderful, the service exceptional and friendly, and the prices are somewhat lower than other establishments in Kyoto offering a similar atmosphere. The lunch sets are great value, if you can pencil in a couple of hours for lunch.
Treat yourself to a little something special today. Try Le Bellecour.
