Pura Segara
Description
Said to be one of the oldest temples in the region, Pura Segara faces the wonderful, white sand Sindhu Beach. The Grand Bali Beach (erected by the first Indonesian president, Soekarno) forms a huge backdrop. The temple still remains in its original state and features shrines made from coral (probably from the nearby Sanur Reef). These take the form of stepped pyramids. Figurines such as turtles, dragons and other figures from the Hindu epics dot the shrines. Indeed a unique temple in Bali.
