This new and modern indoor aquarium offers visitors a glimpse of life on the ocean floor. Access to the exhibits is through an unusual entrance comprising a mock airplane and a flight of stairs resembling an Inca Temple. Schools of colorful fish are viewed against a backdrop of themes, such as a sunken pirate ship, mountain streams and rain forests. The aquarium also features a touching pool, and tanks housing unusual crustaceans, sea-horses, corals and anemones. Perhaps most impressive is the deep ocean and sea floor exhibit that brings visitors face-to-face with sharks, sea snakes and other creatures of the deep.
Very pleasant experience in a very modern facility. The 155m long underwater tunnel is certainly the best part of it. Many exotic species, from all over the world, including arapaima from Amazon, spottes seahorse, Humbolt Penguin, freshwater Sawfish, spotted Seals, Leafy Seadragon, turtles and a screensaver-type of little fish. The kids visiting the place run wild and parents usually do nothing and that is a bit annoying. Sharks pool was closed, unfortunately, but the entrance fee stayed the same (100 RMB). Kids love it, but good for adults too. It is possible to touch fish!
Informative and clean in this large aquarium as you see species from China and around the world. Highlights include a well laid out Amazon, African, arctic section, plus the shark and coral underwater tunnel.
Beware of the "free" pearls given at the end of the tour. Although the imperfect pearls are free, they will convince you to mount it on a necklace at a "special" price.
Very close to the metro station (LuJiaZui) and at 110RMB per adult, it's well worth the trip for all travellers.
