Description
This is the biggest zoo in China, with more than 3,500 species from almost every corner of the world. Besides featuring China's famous 'mascot', the adorable panda, the zoo has an assortment of elephants, monkeys, tigers, bears, zebras, and many exotic birds. This fantastic collection attracts hundreds of thousands of kids and adults every year. Visitors can also pick up some zoological knowledge by visiting the various theme areas, such as those housing pandas and amphibians.
The zoo is in a absolute horrible state. There are no one around to make sure that rules are adhered to. People are feeding animals rubbish food. They are banging on glass to get animals attention etc. The cages are super small and the animals look miserable and neglected. A shocking and heart wrenching experience. If I had the way and the means I would take all these animals out of here. They deserve much better.
The best part of the zoo is the panda exhibit though you have to pay little more for it. There are 2 indoor pens which are nice and then a collection of wire cage pens and some outdoor pens with pandas.
Aside from that most of the animals look pretty miserable.
Recomended because you get pretty close to the pandas. The other animals aren't really worth seeing.
