Mausoleum of Mao Zedong , Beijing

Before walking through the "Moasoluem" as it's called locally you have to check in all packages and cameras. The line is usually long, but moves quickly. You are not allowed to stop while moving past the pickled former ruler. It's a bit grusome, but facinating. Today the Chinese are mixed in their opinion of Mao. He freed the women of the country from their awful life pre-Mao, but starved millions of his people with his extreme programs. I would recommend this because it's a bit shocking to see the body of Mao laid out like he's sleeping, and he played a huge role in the history of China.
