Hard Rock Cafe (Landmark Hotel)
With its walls drenched in rock memorabilia, menus packed with classic American fast-food, and shop stocked to the rafters with the franchise's much-imitated T-shirt collection, this place is as Hard Rock as you get. Love it or hate it, you have to admire their success in luring hordes of tourists and nouveau riche locals to guzzle overpriced burgers and coke amidst replica platinum albums and rock stars' secondhand clothing. After the kitchens close (10.30pm) it turns into a popular, if somewhat cheesy, disco. Beer costs CNY30 a pint and cocktails start at CNY35.
If you need a fix for western food,,,,go a thousand other places in Beijing. If you need the classic rock...beware the live band starts at 8:15 PM.
The food is soo bland and over priced...but tourists continue to come. ??
I found it easy to find and our group enjoyed ourselves. The food was standard HRC, but welcome after 2 weeks in China. We shopped for an hour in the store and found the prices very low. We did have trouble with our US dollars being torn, written on or old. The girl behind the counter would not want to accept them. We finally paid with a credit card.
Food is typical HRC and OK but is very expensive, as are the drinks. Entry charge of RMB120 when I visited on a Friday, included first drink I believe but a lot of people saw this and walked away. There is plenty of competition for business in this area of Beijing and I would avoid the HRC in the future if only because of the prices and lack of value for money.
Hard Rock Beijing is the best compared 5 hard rock cafes that Ive been too, bali, bangkok, mumbai, jakarta, beijing,
The beijing hrc has the best band playing 6 days a week with great Rock ambience and is spacious
The location of HRC BJ is right on the 3rd Ring road and has good visibility with a model of a brass ROCK GUITAR and CADILAC and the ever catching caption "NO DRUGS AND NUCLEAR WEAPONS ALLOWED"
For starters, the food is ok, especially if you're tired of eating Chinese food and crave a burger or the like. Then, if your looking for a place to experience some of the best live music in Beijing, the the Hard Rock is the place for you with some of the best Philiipino cover bands in Asia. If your not into dancing or watching the band, try the foosball which is second to none as far as local competition is concerned.
