African Market in Urgan Joburg
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/5/04
Within the context of dangerous Joburg one can relax a bit at the Bruma Lake Flea Market. You pay 3 rand to enter (0.50 USD). There are stalls that sell crafts from many places in Africa. The African shop keepers are largely friendly foreigners from East and Central Africa who can not get work permits. Much of the rest of the market is regular goods of no particular interest. Across the highway is East Gate mall where one can get a good meal or go to a movie, also in relative security. So if you have to go to Joburg this is an OK place.
