Description

Germiston Lake is frequented not only by water sport fanatics, but also the general public who come to enjoy the rolling lawns. Kids have a whale of a time in the playground and the lake area provides an essential green lung close to the heart of Germiston. Situated close to the Rondebult Bird Sanctuary as well as inner-city museums and art centers, the lake provides an opportunity to picnic and let the children run to their hearts' content. There is no entrance fee and secure parking is available.

i dnt appreciate what the negative person has to say about germiston lake at all!calling people who go there to have fun scum.like the germiston fan sez;its only the first saturday that something that big happens and no more after that.things may gat out of hand sometimes but the cops come if shits really hittin the fan.we young and we wanna have fun,the negative 1 speaks as if she was never young before.i dnt blame her if she was never.Germiston loake baby!!keep welcoming people with open arms!=)

germiston lake is still the best!!

i agree with the person who is complaining about the parties and all BUT this does not occur all the time...i have been there when its been complete mayhem and recently i have seen the cops stepping in and doing the rounds to make sure eveything is ok...so give the lake a break it is still a plce you can go to with family and friends.....the parties only occur when schools are closing,its normally the first saturday. many thanks. Dangerous, dirty and drab

The lake is nowadays used as the prime party (drinking, fighting, dancing semi-naked) place for the scum of society. The dam has been in the local newspapers twice in the last 3 months of 2007, with photos showing the absolute mess, piles of garbage, broken bottles, vandalised ablution facilities and general mayhem left behind after one of the more successfull parties (which the local authorities are too scared of to break up). You have been warned. Go there if you are really stupid.
