Parktown North Methodist Church
Opened in 1910, this church was once the smallest church in the Transvaal province as it only measured 20 feet by 2 feet. In the early 1900s a group of Methodists started worshiping at the home of the Ritchie family which led to the official opening of this church. By 1938, enough money had been raised to build a bigger church on a three quarter acre plot. Parktown North Methodist Church is centrally located one block away from the main Jan Smuts Avenue interchange.
I am not always able to go to Church due to various personal circumstances, but when I do go to PNMC I am always warmly welcomed. The atmosphere is charged with faith, compassion and spirituality and everyone always has a smile on their face. PNMC is surely a beacon in the light of many of us struggling with our faith and I am one of those. I and others are truly grateful that they are there always. Thank you to Rev Vusi for being the shepherd guiding us and thank you to Liz who is always there when I need to talk or have a shoulder to cry on (as I am sure she is for many others.
I pray that 2012 will bring all at PNMC peace of mind, kindess, compassion and good health and may you continue to grow in Christ.
God Bless you all
