As Rosebank is transformed into an upper-class shopper's paradise, this semi-open air cafe is becoming more central and popular. Apart from eating and drinking, you can sit, elevated, at long windows (closed in winter, of course) and observe the world. Enjoy a two-hour lunch with friends, or spend precious time on your own, reading or phoning. Most people do the latter, as it's a business area, too.
I had been there few times and staff were great but the Guy who Runs the business by the name Louis was soooooooooooo retarded. ppl noticed very well that he is unprofessional in regards to customer service and his own staff. what a business in the wrong hand!!!
We had a meeting with a senior journalist from Business Day at Nino’s in Rosebank - 2 of the 5 guests asked for coffee and everybody else opted for water. We literally had 30 minutes with the journalist, so it was a quick in and out. Ten minutes into the meeting, the waiter informed us that everybody had to order a paid-for drink. We declined as we just came from a previous coffee-meeting, and went on with our meeting. Then the manager came over, rudely interrupted the meeting and said we all had to order a paid-for drink, or we had to leave. She was very rude in her manner and the more we argued that it was a 30 minute meeting, the more she hammered that we were bad for business and it is insane for us to take up 5 seats, and only order 2 drinks. Five minutes later she came back, again interrupting the meeting and said if we don’t all order now at once, we had to leave. We were still happy to take the two coffees, but she immediately ordered for all the waters to be removed and practically kicked us out.
Nowhere on the door did it say all members of the party had to order. Secondly, there was about 15 open tables at that time, so it wasn’t that she had to show away potential lunch customers as we were taking up space.
She was extremely rude and irritated, with zero customer service what so ever – very unpleasant indeed.
My first experience at Nino"s was almost a disaster which then seemed like a racial issue. but thanks to the waiter Richard and the manager Chico who sorted out the misunderstanding in a very professional and prudent manner. Nino's is definitely the place to be at.
Chico and Daniel are the best restaurant managers I've ever met. They keep a check on customers without being overbearing. And the food is always, always excellent. A great location with a stunning view of the HBs walking around Rosebank.
My experiences at Nino's are always satisfying - to the point that I regularly eat there. This restuarant has a great atmosphere, and when I walk in I'm seated immediately. The waitrons are very well trained and always have a smile on their face, and if ever there is a dispute, the manager who regularly is there is absolutely professional and deals with it effectively (thank you Chico!!).
Thank you Nino's Rosebank
Wonderful European feel to this cafe style restaurant with great food, strong coffee and helpful staff. Great Italian dishes, toasted sandwiches and some of the finest pasta available. Great place to see and be seen in the heart of Rosebank Johannesburg
