New Cafe Fish (The), Durban

The Food, the service, the view just evarything. Must go and c for your self. You will love it. The Waitors must get a tip for good service. The tip is not included in the bills. Not like Germany.

My husband is a very good chef in London and when we visit Durban we always try to go to nice resturants for a good meal. We have eaten in Cafe fish before about 10 years ago and it was fantastic. Unfortunately this was not the case this time. The most disappointing factor being the service. In all the resturants we have been in never have I been served by a more miserable unfriendly waitress. I have never not given a tip, but on this occassion we decided not to because really and truly it was quite terrible. The food was average and over priced. I had the fish pie - which I did not mind waiting for but i did mind the waitress lifting her eyebrows at me when ordered it. Although the pie was well filled it lacked sauce and was a bit dry, personally I would have preferred a more traditional mash topping. Unfortunately the evening out was quite spoiled by the waitress attitude and I would never return to Cafe Fish...the only person who got a tip was the car guard...at least he was friendly!!
