A memorable dining experience overlooking beautiful surroundings. Experience the authentic feel of another of Durban's fine Indian restaurants whilst enjoying a splendid view of the city and the ocean. Though the decoration is not spectacular, the views are, which gives this venue a real edge. Serving breakfasts, light meals or dinner at the bar or on the terrace. They also host special theme nights such as Mexican or Chinese, but always with an Indian flavour. Lunches are in the form of exquisite buffets.
My family and I received digusting service from this establishment. Food took more than an hour to prepare and take-away orders were handed to us incomplete. I would not recomend this establishment to anyone. No apologies were forthcoming and the owner Mr Modi has not had the courtesy to respond to messages left for him. The manager Mr Naidoo was rude, arrogant, insulting and abusive. I have posted these comments on facebook and was not surprised at the amount of feedback confirming similar experiences. I recently hosted a function at Jaipur Palace and it was the worst experience of my life. I have dealt with the manager Aroon and it was disastrous. The first time I went there to check out the venue, I was told that the cost to hire the suite was R500 & the cost of cooldrink was R25 for a 1.25L. I was told that for 25 guests I would get 3 bottles. The second time I went there I was told by the same manager that the cost of the venue was R300,the cooldrink was R17 for the 1.25L and I would receive 10 bottles. When I was told that the venve hire was R300.00 I paid a deposit of R200.00. I was told that I could use the venue from 12h00 on the day of the party to set up. It was a surprise party so i was told that my guests could enter at 5. Because of all the lies spoken I called at 13h00 the morning of the party to confirm that i could set up at 3. I was only told then that there was a function in that room at the time and I could set up at 3.30. When I arrived at Jaipur at 3.30 I was told by the manager that I can only set up at 5 and my guests could only enter at 6. This was a surprise party so I had told my guests to arrive at 5 and was furious when they could not enter and they had to stand outside. The owner was present and the manager denied every agreement that we had made, the owner then said I can only set up at 6 as the buffet only opens then. I then told her it was a surpirse party and after a fuss she allowed me to set up at 4.30. Whilst the party had started I was told that I had to dim the lights in the room as it was affecting the lights in the main restaurant. I was disgusted at the waiter that barged in and dimmed the lights. I hired the venue so that we could conduct our formalites privately. As a result of dimming the lights the video of the party is dull. I paid to hire the private venue and was extremely furious! Then when all was over and the bill arrived, it reflected a charge of R500.00 for the venue. I then said that the manager told me the venue was R300 and I only had to pay a balance of R100.00. I am extremely dissapointed with the service I had received. Rest assured I work for 1 of the largest organisations in Durban and have already shared my experience with many. I will never host another function at this venue.
Their Indian food is amazing, it is a great Greek man who is friendly and the hygiene is great. The service is amazing. You also get a good view of the beach. I have not been there a year because me being in America. I would recommend this restaurant to any tourist.
Why do I say pathethic. As a parent of two, I find it absolutely disgusting that this restaurant has implemented a rule that no children under 8 are allowed on Fridays and Saturdays. This is discrimination against children. When I questioned the reservations clerk about this ridiculous rule, the response was: "Well it is working for us." I will never go to this restaurant again and urge others to take the same stance until this restaurant management catches a wake up!
