Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, Cape Town

The Victoria and Albert Waterfornt is the typical tourist hot spot in Cape Town. There are several shops and restaurants there and on a good day you'll see the sea lions. It is one of nicest spots in CapeTown and with the recent construction of all the new hotels in preparation for the World Cup 2010 it is a must see. You can catch the boat to Robben Island from V&A Waterfront. and Don't miss the the show in the Robben Island terminal. It will help you understand the history of Apartheid. You can also go on dinner cruises and see Cape Town from the beautiful South Atlantic Ocean. So as long as you know the pit falls of the V & A but its a good place to spend a relaxing day and do a little window shopping. If you want to do some real good shopping go to the craft bazaar in the adjacent building. There are real nice crafts to purchase there and you can bargain with the right vendors. You can also visit the ice bar ...a little pricey but well worth it and the Irish Pub across from it has a fantastic selection of beers that they brew right on site. Have an enjoyable time and don't be taken by what looks like a good price because its just an overpriced tourist spot.

There is something for everyone! It is not offten that one can go to place and experience great cultural diversity that V&A has to offer! The V&A is highly recommendable for any tourist or local!

The mall is not big deal but the view of table mountain is great You can read in my other reviews I LOVED SOUTH AFRICA, more than US , AMERICA, SOUTHAMERICA or EUROPE AFRICA on my heart! CARACAS ' s SAMBIL mall is bigger than many malls in thw world, but not the scenary that a TABLE MOUNTAIN can offer

It has a great atmosphere but a little expensive compared the over part of Cape Town. It has the usual tourist prices and presents to take home. The habour and the view of Table Mountain make it a great place particularly in the evening. I would recommend Mortons for a really posh meal. If you like Spur food then check out the Sea Point as it is a little cheaper. SA wine is out of this world and expect it to be cheap unless going to an expensive restaurant. Overall a great atmosphere with some really good food. It is worth doing a harbour cruse and seeing the seals (very large ones) in the cage by the clock tower. THE IMAX THEATER IS NO LONGER THERE.

Cape Town is a beautiful city with lots of atmosphere, up beat and friendly people. The whole place feels alive. We stayed in Llandudno 20 mins drive to the city centre. The beech there is fantastic the views are wonderful with truly outstanding sunsets which cannot be experienced anywhere else in the world. We visited for the second time in August and are returning again in October to purchase our own holiday retreat. We eat mostly at Victoria and Albert waterfront where the restaurants are varied and while not as inexpensive as you would anticipate you can experience some wonderful food, watch the entertainment in the amphitheatre and chill out with a glass of wine. We love Cape Town and cannot wait to have our own place there.

the place was fantastic along with the atmosphere and the people , it is a place i would definitely go back to. the weather is another factor.The sunshine and the beaches were great. Cape Town is really the place to go and visit.

I am from New York City, though I live in Seattle, Washington at the moment. I lived in CapeTown (Wynberg) for a few years. Besides having my two daughters, Cape Town is one of my most treasured memories. I worked in all Girls school and some some of the most beautiful sites in the world. I lived in many places internationally in this world and there is nothing like South Africa. One day, I will be taking my daughters there and my most special wish would be to live there again with my girls. I miss South Africa so much. It was a fantastic experience.

The V&A Waterfront is a great place to shop, stay, and eat. Great atmosphere and very safe.

stayed here on our second visit to Cape Town- what a peaceful time!!! Your room overlooks the Marina to watch the seals play on the docks and the dolphins jump in the water.... Table Mountain is stunning- we had a Mtn View room- the way to go. Very conveniently located- would stay here again in a heartbeat.
