Established in 1955, this Long Street shop is one of Cape Town's oldest bookstores. Clarkes specialises in new and out of print books, as well as maps and prints of southern Africa. There is also an excellent stock of general second-hand books including reams of Africana. Of the new books in this spacious store, there is a particularly good selection of literature on South Africa, film and antiques.
