Description

Miller's Thumb is a bustling neighborhood seafood eatery with personable service that reflects its casual style. Bright, happy colors surround you as you peruse the blackboard menu and there's a separate bar and a tiny outdoor dining area. The classics include Jambalaya and Yaki Soba (a stir-fry of Japanese noodles, chicken, prawn tails and cashews). Another must is the Penne Castoro Otto, with asparagus, prawns, dill, lemon juice, chili and cream. There's a small but varied wine list.

I felt like I was in an old age home. The average age of the clientele was over 60. The food was average.

The best place to eat on earth

Solly's got the magic touch when it comes to preparing good food and with Jane as the host, good times may sound like a cliche, but will serve as an understatement to the occasion. The girls are lovely and the service was unbeatable. A rare find in modern restaurants. Will definitely pay them a visit when in the area!

Fabulous - Jane & Solly's

We were recommended to eat at the Miller's Thumb - EAT is an understatement - Everything about this place is great - food, fun, service, attitude. We ate there 3 nights in the 3 days we spent in Cape Town across 3 weeks in SA and Namibia, NEVER gone back to anywhere like that before. Solly and Jane are great hosts (despite beating England at Rugby while we were there) You must go there, you will not regret it Phil & Mary Summerfield England

A very inviting Restaurant with excellent Seefood and Service by Solly and Jane personally. Every time we have been there over years the Food has always been constantly good. Good for Parties, you always have a good time. Otfried Keller, San Francisco

The best meal we had in South Africa

We ate here for the last 2 dinners in South Africa. It was wonderful & the prices were average. Although the place is bustling, the service is fantastic & the folks REALLY friendly, yet efficient. Solly's Broth is to die for. Even the house red wine was gorgeous. We each had different meals each evening & everything was wonderful. We tried the gorgonzola ice cream with sour cherries for dessert - sheer heaven. We just wished it was in England. We're missing it like crazy. Can't think of one negative thing to say about it.....
