A long-time favourite with tourists and locals for traditional Egyptian fare, the casual atmosphere and reasonable prices makes this chain an ideal place to sample the country's speciality dishes. The licensed chain is famous for its fuul and taamiya, offering dozens of varieties and all served with freshly baked baladi bread. Also notable is its creamy and garlicky baba ghanoug, one of the best in Cairo. Meat is prominent on the menu, but the management has taken care to include a good selection of vegetarian dishes. Try the vegetable casserole or spicy mousakka. Entrees average EGP 20, starters EGP 7. For the same great food at a fraction of the price, try the selective menu at Felfela Takeaway around the corner on Talaat Harb Street.
We went to the Felfala restaurant in Giza, and the servers were very nice and personal. It had pretty good food and there was nothing that stood out as very good or bad. Very good for first time visitors to Egypt.
Waiters in restaurant were rude, unable to answer any questions about the menu, rushed everyone to order and then took forever to serve our food...our food was beyond horrible, seemed like they served us the leftovers from that night...will never ever come back to this restaurant again!
The restaurant is downtown within walking distance of many hotels. The waiters speak Spanish and english among other languages. They offer typical Egyptian food that you cannot find in other restaurants. You can pick and choose between cheap and expensive dishes .
Yes a little bit touristy. Good spoken English by the waiters.
Tamina salad never appeared but charged on bill.
Barbeque chicken with rice...good and tasty.
Very good homus and pitta bread.
Long black hair in yogurt dessert..very bad
Give it a shot
The food was tasty and the service attentive, the atmosphere cozy with charm, the experience was as flavourful as the food,I am one of those people that does not like to eat anything that isnt appealing to look at,the plates I had tried, had offerd me a wonderful authentic Arab presentation served with hospitality ...mike central Canada
i am an egyptian and yes i've always seen tourists there. why? it beats me. it is the kind of restaurant were u can find spit and hair in your food. if that's ok with u then that's ur place. if you want to go to a good egyptian restaurant this definetly not it. To add, people there are not friendly if you dun givem a tip. I also invite everybody to complain about their food or service atleast once to put their friendliness to the test (they totally fail). this place would have totally closed down if it wasn't for the misguided tourists. It is rare when i see an egyptian there except the ones who will go 4 cheap food
Bumping into it by accident, as Felfel is the egyptan word for my boyfriends nick name Pepper but inside we were very disappointed about unpersonal service -if at all- busy ambiance and the food. Fun to go there once, but no more for me
I have been to Felelah several times. The food is mediocre and the ambiance is good for first time tourists. If you are lookign for good Egyptian food, this is not it.It is kid friendly and tourist companies use it frequently.
Steer clear if you're claustrophobic, but otherwise this is one of Cairo's most popular bars and an excellent place to
meet friends for a night out. Popular with youngish ex pats and upper class Egyptians, this small, narrow bar ...
