Overall cleanliness better than average. excellent burgers and fries, fresh made at time of order. very good bowls of chili. darts and pool. best balcony on the plaza. no wierdos. staff looks out for you. safe for girls. sporting events on tv. great music playlist. amusing decor. tips go to staff, (owners skim tips everywhere else in Cuzco)

I really like Norton Rat's Tavern. It's a good place to meet people and have a couple of drinks. While I completely agree that food is a part of culture and that people ought to experience culture... I don't believe that it makes it bad to go to traditional food of your own country. Would you say that a Chinese person living in the US should not eat at a Chinese restaurant. I have been living in Cusco for the last 6 months and have had plenty of opportunities to try various typical dishes of Peru. But there are time that I just want a giant burger and fries (the Super Duper Norton Burger is the best in Cusco). It doesn't mean that I'm missing out on culture, just that I enjoy various types of dishes at different times.

Really fun place to spend a couple hours drinking. I don't care what these other people are saying about ignorance and not wanting to experience the culture. I am a 23 year old male from north carolina, and was in Peru for a total cultural experience(no i wasn't there on a mission trip, as you might think me being from NC), but sometimes you just want a damn burger and fries with your 10 pints of cusquena beer, not a plate of cold ceviche. Plus you probably don't want seafood in Cusco as it's like 12 hours from the coast by road. Trust me this is not only the best burger I've had outside of America, it rivals any that I've had inside the US. Wer'e talking a monster, with a huge side of fries for like 4 american dollars(in 2006). If you really need to experience something else though, the cuy(guinea pig) is also good. I can't believe people would get a Hamburger rather than venture out and tasting some typical cuisine. Especially when we're talking about Peru. It's shame that people just travel to these places because they think it's trendy but don't take the time to absorb the culture... and we all know food is a huge part of culture. I will not recommend any place in particular but I would definitely not recommend a place like this to eat anywhere in Peru. It's an insult. Go there and get some drinks with your friends but give yourself a favor and eat right while you're there

Been there many times over 10 years, great music, basic but very American good pub grub, very friendly atmosphere, staff - fun! International flavor, local characters.

i love this place because htey have the greatest music and its not like other places u go to and have the same songs playing over and over. the food is deliciouse. i love the burritos and the super duper norton burger. the ambiance is great u get to socialize alot no matter what. they have darts and a pool table. its the sweetest place on earth

While it might be located in a great location, it offers nothing traditional, and is typical pub that can be found anywhere. It is pretty much a dive bar that attracts toursist unwilling to go out and venture to other more cultural places.
