Colonial Museum of San Francisco
Description
This museum is located within the San Francisco convent (built in 1628) next to the church, both of which are among the oldest remaining buildings in town. In 1969, the museum was opened, sharing some of the space with the convent's monks. Presently, it houses an extensive collection of colonial and religious art in the tranquility of the former convent. The most outstanding pieces are valuable Cusco paintings representing the life of Saint Francis, silver works, religious ornaments and imagery, and oil paintings.
