A Hidden Jewel

Off the beaten path in Providencia, the place has no exterior signs indicating it is a restaurant. Not to fear...the owner told me that his clientele finds the place by word of mouth. I can understand why.
The food was simply mouth-watering. We started with the customary pisco sour (Peruvian style) and were not disappointed. This was followed by a delightful appetizer of "pulpo de olivar" (octopus with olive paste. Never tried octopus before, but after this experience I will !! Our main courses consisted of "Picante de camerones," a wonderfully picante treatment of shrimp in a chili-laced cream sauce, complete with rice, chopped olives, and egg slice. I had the "Lomo Salteado," beef sauteed with onion, tomato, parsley, chilis, and topped with papa frites.
While the exterior is almost hidden, the interior is spotlessly clean. The wait staff is clean and attentive, the decor is light and airy, the airconditioning works wonderfully (a plus on a scorching day), and there is absolutely NO SMOKING!!! What more can one ask?
This restaurant is one of the best I have visited in Chile...after 4 trips. A true gem!!
