Monument to the Dead of WWII, Rio de Janeiro

The Monument to the Dead of WWII (Monumento aos Mortos na Segunda Guerra Mundial), locally known in Rio de Janeiro as Monumento aos Pracinhas, is a place that contains a memorial to the Brazilian participation in WWII, as well as the remains (previously in Pistoia, Italy) of Brazilians who died fighting in the war. Situated in Flamengo Park, the monument has a 31 meter high elevated concrete platform, as well as large sculptures representing the Marines, Armed Forces and Air Force.
