Garota de Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro

One of the most famous bars in Rio where Vinicius de Morais and Tom Jobim - two well known Brazilian songwriters - wrote one of Brazil's most well known song, "Girl from Ipanema". This song was inspired by a girl who used to pass in front of the bar daily on her way to the beach. It is a bohemian bar where you can appreciate live music. There are two rooms, upstairs there is a performance room and downstairs is the restaurant itself, a meeting point where you can drink and eat. The bar has large windows from where you can appreciate the comings and goings of the trendy Ipanema crowd. Typical Brazilian cuisine, very good for drinks and snacks, and also steaks.
