For those who crave a juicy steak, grilled to perfection, this is a typical Brazilian, good quality churrascaria, which translates as the perfect place if you are a meat lover. With an exquisite and interesting decor, the restaurant overlooks the Leme Beach and offers more than 30 different grilled meat dishes. For those not too keen on having meat only, there is a superb salad bar with colorful, tasty vegetable combinations as well as a great selection of fish. Right next door is Marius Crustáceos, a seafood palace.
The only place we liked better was Mio, an incredible Italian restaurant in Ipenama (absolutely don't miss it), but this was Number One for Brazilian BBQ...all the meats brought to the table by the carvers were good, but the roasted pork, wild boar, and pork ribs stole the show.
We arrived ealy and were virtually the only ones there when we arrived, but the place filled up quickly, and we were amazed that the carvers seemed to miss nobody...I believe the service would be as good as we experienced no matter how crowded
For Brasilian standard it is quit expansive (30 euro) but at home (europe) you would pay triple. We went to the fish restaurant at Marius, wich is quit a busy but friendly place. You can not amazine how much fish you can eat at this place. Lobster, shrimps (big ones) Oysters, Krab etc......and as much as you like. The service is realy good.

Marius staff and management pay attention to the details, a sign of a well-run establishment. There are fresh rose petals on the tables and also in the (ladies) bathroom. The buffet has plenty for everyone, which means that some stuff may not appeal to you but it appears to be well prepared (i.e the traditional Brazilian bean dish). We ate at the meat restaurant, and could not keep up with all the rodizio offerings but there were lots of fresh seafood options as well, mainly cold items. The staff definitely are trained to upsell on beverages, and it is a pricey meal, by Rio standards, but you won't be disappointed.
I first went with friends and thououghly enjoyed the experience. The owner is a charming host and the food is some of the best I have sampled on 5 continents. There are 2 restaurants - Carne and Marisco - meat and seafood. As a dedicated carnivore I normally go to Carne. My advice, sleep in, reserve a table at Marius, spend the day at the beach and around 9:30 head to Marius along with a healthy appetite. After dinner a nice walk along the central part of Avenida Atlantica and then go clubbing to work off the meal, around 4 head to bed. Repeat as required. It's a tough life!
