Porcão, Rio de Janeiro

My whole family all ten of us rated this as our favourite restaurant that we visited on out recent trip to Rio.... to sum it up in one word - 'Awesome' .... we had our meal straight after a trip to sugar loaf and probably were not dressed exactly smart enough but none less as with all Cariocas the staff were exceptionally welcoming, gave a high level of service and even some good humour.... i only hope i am able to return some time soon

The brazilian food is just perfect and Porcao is one ofthe best places to taste it. The Ipanema neiborhood is the best place to stay in Rio, and it hasa very good Porcao resaturant there. Words cannot describle the restaurant!

the food was great and there was so much of it! i didnt need to eat for a couple of days afterwards!the meat was brill and so was the massive strawberry and cream pudding! yum!

I put on at least 50 pounds every time I go to Brazil.... It is a low carb paradise... PETA stay away!

Definitely a place for those who love good quality food and caters to those focused on freshness, quality and service. Having tried both of Rio de Janeiro's Porcao's, Porcao Rio's and Porcao's Ipanema, I can attest to their dedication to consistency for serving incredibly high quality food. Both were eating adventures and this is where Porcao excels, from their lemon sauce for the fish to their shrimp and seafood bar I can't say enough on how they do it right, especially providing steak and beef done to perfection -- no matter what your taste -- well-done to rare. The decor is distinctly contemporary Brazil but with an emphasis on fine detail such as wood and great tile along with subtle lighting and the best touch of all -- fresh air. Far too many potentially good restaurants are ruined by stuffy, overpowering food and cooking smells, this is one of Porcao's biggest assets -- well ventilated establishments with no food smells -- only the great aroma coming from your plate. A place most people will always return, given the chance.

This place has the best steak in the world...by far! It's brazilian barbecue, the meat cuts are different than U.S. cuts and the meat is grilled and brought straight to your plate in a skewer. You choose how you want it cooked and the piece of the meat you want. It's all you can eat!

At the recommendation of a friend I went to Porcao. I should have starved myself for days beofre. The food was excellent and plentiful. The prices were excellent. The people were happy and friendly as one expects of Cariocas. The only disappointment was the ambiance. It was very clean and very bright and shiny. It was not unlike a diner in that respect. Otherwise great. Personally I prefer Marius, more expensive but it feels much more sympatique.
