Auckland Zoo
Description
Auckland Zoo has committed itself to improving the living quarters of New Zealand's largest collection of native and exotic animal species. Tourists will feel as though they are walking with the rare white rhinos on the Pridelands, swinging with the monkeys through the McDonald's Rain forest, and almost swimming with the inhabitants of Hippo River. There are picnic facilities and a cafe. The zoo has many outreach and educational programs for both visitors and local groups and is available for corporate and private functions.
This place is OK. I guess when you're a tourist you gotta do tourist things. Hey they serve beer so how bad is that? Go for the Lion Red I say. I don't know you see one lion you've seen them all. And monkeys...how annoying. You can meander amoungst the wallibees which is ok. Steer clear of the corn dogs. Vinnie Meehan -USA
I like about this place because there are alot of animals at your zoo for children and especially it's the closest zoo around auckland and the only zoo
I loved all the animals the lions, hippos and elephants were the favourites. If you go to Auckland you have to go there. During the week it is quiet but during the holidays it is busy.
Nice clean zoo, well spaced out, animals looked happy and well fed.
Especially loved the giraffes, being at face level, which gave a different perspective to photograph.
Enjoyable for both the young and elderly.
The whole zoo idea was really cool and is alos located at a convenient place. Good for an outing with the kids. I think the $2 for the map went to charity... the food court is nice, though diversity is a must. More activities must be organised. A map is essential though is not to scale... there are not many signs and directional arrows... Was good... try to go on a sunny day and dont forget your cameras.
I am from Bangladesh. In last July,2004,I was in NewZealand & went to Auckland Zoo, its pretty good. But in Bangladesh's Zoo, I have seen more animals.I liked the water world in the zoo.Its fantastic
