Merlot Wine Cafe is small and cosy, basic yet chic as only an inner city wine bar can be. The music is understated, as is the design. The Merlot Wine Cafe attracts people in search of a good meal and a range of wines, unrivalled in the area. Main meals are basic yet tasty and very reasonably priced. The menu includes Bangers and Mash with grilled vegetables and Grilled Veal Loin on roasted root vegetables, figs and green beans. The fantastic wine list starts at NZD6.50 per glass for a local Pinotage.
i really like the house specialty: frogs eyes soup. also the frogs eggs in noodles with garlic. i cant believe that this place offers good food. i thought that exotic foods are only serve in asia....
