Manly Beach is one of the most popular beaches in the world and is an Australian landmark. The three main sections of Manly Beach are Queenscliff, North Steyne, and South Steyne. One of the first seaside resorts to allow daylight swimming and surfing back in 1903, Manly offers the unique combination of wide ocean beaches on one side and serene sandy harbour coves and inlets on the other. Try the oceanside surfing beaches and coves of Manly for active water sports: surfing, windsurfing, parasailing, snorkelling and scuba diving. Or simply sunbathe, take a dip in one of the saltwater swimming pools or swim off the patrolled beaches. For a unique beach experience enjoy the sheltered sandy beach and gentle waves of Manly Cove, on the harbour side right next to the Wharf - ideal for family picnics, sailing, fishing, building sandcastles or just relax in the sun.
well...it was reali fun there!!!first time at the beach since i arrived there in sydney!!reali nice..altho there were a couple of nude people..hehehe...i enjoyed the nice sun lying on the beach..its a very friendly place to meet new people..anyone will enjoy it..a lot of shops around!!
I really dislike Manly's big brother (Bondi Beach) because it is so crowded and such a tourist scene. Manly definitely has a more local feel and there are lots of great shops and cafes in the area. Its more of a place to spend the day, rather than just "go and see" (as many do at Bondi). So sit back, have a big brekkie and watch the surf, then jump in and take a few surf lessons like I did. Because the beach is more quiet, I wasn't too embarrassed during my wipe outs! Haha!
I love Manly beach! I lived in Manly for a year while going to school and can honestly say it was the best time of my life. Great food, nice people, beautiful scenery! It is a must visit if going downunder!
A beautiful beach, even in autumn...a great feel to the area with lots of restaurant choices! Was recommended to me by Australian relatives as a 'must see' - now I know why. I will definitely receommend it to others and go back one day.
First time to Australia, I visited Manly where I went almost everyday. Loved walking to Shelly Beach. The sculptures in the wall and benches make this a place to sit and relax. Great shops and restaurants to dine or grab a quick cup of coffee. The best part is that I am returning in a couple of weeks. I really hope it can keep the ambience.
Manly is Sydney's best beach area with good surf and clean sands. Plenty of lifesavers are there to ensure your safety. After enjoying the beach head to one of the many great pubs or restaurants and party till late. A great place to visit short or long term. Make it your base if staying in Sydney with the heart of Sydney only a short but picturesque ferry ride away. I'm lucky enough to live here in a great place
The ferry ride over sets the mood. It's like being near the city but miles away. go to Oceanworld, which is right near the ferry. It's the best aquarium. They have the shark dive there also. I did it and it was the most amazing experience!
