Port Jackson Press Print Room
Description
This respected Smith Street gallery publishes, exhibits and sells limited edition prints. An impressive range of artwork is on offer at Port Jackson, including works by aboriginal artists and prints by some of the heavyweights of Australian art history, including Charles Blackman and Arthur Boyd. Opened in 1975, the gallery has a long history of supporting both emerging and established artists. More recently, the Print Room has been joined by two sister galleries – James Makin Gallery in Camberwell, which showcases painting, sculpture and works on paper, and the newly-opened Centre for Australian Printmaking, in Cambridge Street, Collingwood, where the printmaking facilities are housed and major exhibitions held. - Jo-Anne Woodward
