Great local history!
By ,
I saw the exhibition they did on the local pub, the Sir Joseph Banks Hotel, and it was great. A lot better than I thought from such a small, out-of-the-way museum. They had sourced period costumes and accessories, and had a whole heap of objects dug up from underneath the original buildings (before they got redeveloped into private residences). It's great value 'coz it's free, you just have to find it!

Worth a squiz...
By ,
I'm not a frequent visitor of museums, but I enjoyed the GHMM exhibition on the Sir Joseph Banks Hotel. I found the collection of artefacts and the stories of personalities and events that shaped the local area both intriguing and enlightening. Definitely worth a look.
